A PC World kérdésére a Microsoft illetékese nem szolgált túl sok jó hírrel.

Dear...!

My name is József Molnár, and as a journalist of PC World Hungary, I had your availability from the Hungarian PR agency of Microsoft, where I inquired regarding Bing's official appearance in Hungary. Our plan is to publish an article about the program which has its beta-version presently available in Hungary yet. We kindly would like to know when shall the functions known from the USA localization appear and what sort of technological or other conditions are required for the installation. Accordingly, my questions will be the following:

- Approximately when will the Hungarian Bing get over its beta-state?
- What terms should be needed in order to introduce the full-version
Bing in Hungary?

Thank you for your kind assistance in advance!

Hi Jozsef, As you have rightly pointed out outside the US, the product includes less features (varies by market) and thats why we have beta tag. We will evaluate the product's readiness to come out of beta in a market-by-market fashion to ensure it provides a compelling offering for local consumers.

We recognize that we still have much work to do in certain markets to provide a differentiated product, and we will keep the beta tag on the product until it is ready.
That said, the company is deeply committed to search globally, as evidenced by its investments in Search Technology Centers in both Europe and Asia. Even in the US, we don't think the launch of Bing was the end of the road. Our strategy is to help people make faster, more informed decisions but we know that this release was a step to the ultimate destination.

Let me know if you have any questions. Below are my contact details.

Hi Milka,

Thank you for your prompt answer, but we are still curious probably when Bing arrives to Hungary. In your view, is it approximately a 2-3 year-old period or could the program be officially presented earlier? And as far as the market-by-market fashion is concerned, what do you think when Hungary could be the next in line? What priority Hungary has regarding the markets?

What investment requirements should we meet exactly and what technological condition requires to have the full version Bing in Hungary? I suppose a simple naturalization is not enough in that case.

Thank you in advance:
József

Hi Jozsef, Even today users in Hungary can use Bing. However, they will not experience the product with all the features available in the US. I cannot comment on timing. When we feel that the product in Hungary is ready we will remove the beta tag and launch it with all features. We have now Search Technology Center in Europe that is dedicated to bringing the local products to the quality needed.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Milka
